About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building robust server-side applications, APIs, and database systems that power our scalable interview platform. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Work with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate frontend and backend services.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.
Debug and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express.js (or similar backend frameworks).
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
Good to Have
Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, Bull with Redis).
Knowledge of GraphQL.
Exposure to DevOps practices and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.).
