About the role
Your work will fall within either of the following areas, depending on where the team needs you most: Gate Automation & Computer Vision (Research & Prototype) Explore and prototype computer vision and OCR approaches for automated detection of truck and trailer data at yard gates — trailer numbers, license plates, cab numbers, USDOT numbers, and seal presence. Build and evaluate training data pipelines using publicly available datasets and real-world gate imagery. Benchmark detection accuracy and document what is achievable in-house vs. what would require significant investment. Assess feasibility of running detection models on edge hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson or equivalent). YMS Platform Feature Development Work on backend features within the Kaleris YMS platform — contributing to gate workflow logic, shipment management, dock door assignments, or yard inventory tracking. Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews. Help reduce manual data entry pain points through automation and smarter integrations.
